Message from the Dean Chiba Postgraduate School of Nursing Chizuko Miyamoto Japan chose community-based integrated care systems as its path to attaining sustainability in an aging society with declining birthrates. This has prompted more division of functions among different institutions. That is precisely why we, as healthcare professionals, must collaborate appropriately across professions and organizations in order to improve the quality of health and medical services. Furthermore, confrontation with the unprecedented spread of COVID-19 has created a demand for improved crisis management networks. In response to these social changes, the Postgraduate School of Nursing was established at the Chiba Faculty of Nursing. The goal is to clarify the roles of nursing while building interprofessional connections with various professions in the healthcare practice and cultivate professionals who are capable of leading practical initiatives. We welcome anyone interested in learning how collaboration serves people’s needs, and how this can be achieved in hospitals, nursing stations, healthcare facilities for the elderly, public health centers, schools, and elsewhere.
