These divisions share the common goal of developing human resources who are capable of establishing systems that will lead to the realization of the sustainability of local and international communities. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are now being aggressively promoted around the world, have 17 goals adopted by the United Nations to achieve by 2030. We define the sustainability that our graduate school aims for as "the ability to perpetually maintain the life, health, happiness, and peace of humankind and the earth, as well as people and community", based on the basic principles of the SDGs, and we work on developing human resources who can contribute to the sustainable development of the region and the world for generations even beyond 2030. In order to respond quickly and steadily to the expected dramatic changes in social systems, coupled with the progress of advanced information technology and super-aging, our graduate school puts together all the activities of the engineering, literature, and medical fields and links them together to share awareness of the interrelationship of individual issues in deriving integrated solutions, and conducts education and research with solidarity that transcends divisional boundaries. Basic Philosophy 1. We aim to contribute to the sustainability of local and international society through educational, research, and social cooperation activities with a view to the future of mankind and the earth. 2. We aim to create new civilizational values that not only enable people to lead healthy and happy lives, but also enable the creation and promotion of new industries and cultures. Educational Philosophy 1. By utilizing the intellectual human resources of Komatsu University in the fields of engineering, literature, and medicine, we support students to cultivate capabilities in AI, data science, and human communication as a common literacy, with the aim of developing human resources who have diverse specialized knowledge and skills for contributing to the sustainability of the region and the world, and who can appropriately respond to changes in the times and society. 2. By actively accepting working adults, we support relearning, additional learning, and/or skill improvement of human resources working in manufacturing, health, medical, or welfare organizations. Also by actively accepting foreign students and researchers, we contribute to international joint research, multicultural coexistence, employment by Japanese companies, and brain circulation. *Definition of terms Sustainable Systems ...
