We aim to cultivate personality through well-balanced education of knowledge, affection, and intention as well as foster practical and applied abilities.Furthermore, we train students in practical problem-solving skills in order to gain advanced specialized knowledge.We cultivate students who can contribute to the development of Japan from an international perspective by studying specialized academic fields. Department of Animal Sciences Department of Life & Health Sciences Department of Natural & Environmental Science Department of Natural & Environmental Science(Tokyo West Campus / Senju Campus) 人と動物の新しい関係を探究できる人材を育てる--> Surrounded by nature, nurture your consideration of environmental problems. In this department, students will learn a well-balanced curriculum of two subjects: "nature environment field" based on research and analysis through fieldwork, as well as"environment chemical field" based on chemical experiments, measures, and analysis. From the 4th year, students will be assigned to a research lab where they deepen their expertise according to their interest. Students nurture their perspectives in order to think about how to solve environmental problems and build a sustainable society. Three Features Point 1 Develop a comprehensive perspective by studying biology and chemistry In this department, students learn the relationship between biology and nature necessary for solving environmental problems, and gain knowledge about the relationship between chemistry and the environment in a well-balanced manner.After cultivating a perspective for comprehensive consideration of the environment, students will deeply explore themes that interest them. Point 2 Acquire the ability to think and solve by yourself through fieldwork and practical training Fieldwork is indispensable in the "biological environment field".The Tokyo West Campus, which is close to forests, rivers, and dams, is a privileged environment for fieldwork.In addition, it is possible for students to participate in "special environmental training" held in the Ogasawara Islands.Through practical learning, students will develop the ability to discover, analyze, and solve problems. Point 3 Extensive experimental equipment for thinking about environmental problems from the standpoint of chemistry At the Tokyo West Campus blessed with nature, it is possible to conduct research that concerns environmental problems such as "the contamination of air, water, and soil of Mt.
